A module LB-487 is used for collection and registry of measurement data. It is equipped with 8 inputs, where each can be individual and independent form the others, configured to work in the following modes:
LB-487 module collects measurement data from the inputs and next makes them available through its communication interfaces. Additionally, the collected data can be with a set period registered in the internal memory.
Including LB-487 module in a measurement system or connecting it to a PC computer is possible using communication interfaces. Ethernet is a standard interface, which works in the modes 10/100 Mbit/s. Optionally, it is possible to equip LB-487 module with two additional ports of the communication interfaces, where each can be:
Such variety of the interfaces assures very high module attachment
elasticity, which allows on its application practically with every
existing measurement system. Attaching two additional ports creates a
possibility of providing LB-487 module with maximum 3 communication
interfaces (including the Ethernet interface, which is assembled in
standard). All 3 interfaces can work simultaneously and totally
independent from one another.
LB-487 module serves standard communication protocols, what allows on simple integration with random measurement systems and existing software. The following protocols are served (some protocols are attributed to certain types of the interfaces):
Serving MODBUS protocol allows easily on including LB-487 module in the systems served by SCADA class software. SNMP protocol allows on easy access to measurement data in a form of MIB variables from the software level of IP network management. HTTP protocol allows on easy data monitoring directly in WWW browser.
Collected data can be periodically registered through LB-487 module
in the internal memory. The memory’s volume (counted in data records)
depends on the inputs’ configuration, number and types of the attached
sensors.
The registry memory allows on creating an archive of measurement data
and later review of the results at a convenient moment. The memory is
protected against content loss in case of lack in power supply – LB-487
module is equipped with internally sustained power supply of the memory
registry. Each registered parameter has its time of registry, obtained
from the internal real time clock. The clock works in a constant way
also in case of lack in outside power supply.
Registry memory volume: (counted in data records, where a data record is understood as a set of data from all outputs saved at that moment) it can be determined in the following way:

LB-487 module allows on defining 16 independent alarms for measured data. For each alarm there are set:
A possibility of associating each alarm with any measured data allows on setting i.e. individual alarms for 16 various data or in an extreme case 16 independent alarm alarm intervals for one measured value.
Alarm signaling has a delay function – after alarm signaling, a user can delete an alarm (a key button on the front part of the module’s casing), what results in a delay of an alarm situation to a programmed time.The device is offered additionally with software for a PC computer with the Windows systems - program LBX, which allows on:
LB-487 module in standard is powered from an outside 12V feeder.
Such
way of powering allows on simple use of accumulator power supply in the
systems where there is such a need.
Additionally, LB-487 can be equipped with a power supply module POE – which allows on application of the Ethernet cable, which provides power supply, with no need of using an outside network feeder. Such option allows on simplifying the installation, eliminating the necessity of attaching to a power network i.e. in places where it is not available of it is not convenient. Using POE power supply requires applying an adequate network infrastructure – the network switches used have to be with POE type ports or it is also possible to apply a midspan feeder.
